Scope of Practice: Naturopathy is a system of healing which means, essentially, “to follow the path of nature.”  It has been practiced for centuries and is directly based on observable scientific principles.  Modern naturopathy grew out of the 19th Century Natural Cure movement of Europe, and was popularized in the U.S. by Benedict Lust. Naturopaths do not practice allopathic medicine, do not prescribe drugs, and do not diagnose or treat diseases. Rather, by using natural, drugless therapies and methods, Naturopaths facilitate the body’s own ability to heal and rebalance itself.  Natural healing methods are non-invasive, safe, and effective. Certified practitioners must maintain high standards of ethics and competence. ANCB-certified naturopathic professionals must meet specific standards of continuing education and experience and be committed to a high level of ethical practice. Practitioners must promote the principles and practices of natural healing within the scope of their training and expertise.
Description As an independent organization, the American Naturopathic Certification Board (ANCB) administers a certification program for natural health professionals. Quantum University provides the education needed in order for students to qualify for the Certified Traditional Naturopath (CTN) credentials and professional recognition. The ANCB’s mission is to provide a testing process that promotes high standards of ethics and competence among naturopaths, health care professionals, and other natural healers; aids in maintaining these standards through required continuing education; and assures that ANCB-certified naturopathic professionals meet specific standards of education and experience, and that they are committed to a high level of ethical practice.
Benefits ANCB’s CTN designation is a highly-valued professional credential that reflects a commitment to professional ethics and high standards of practice.
